BECOME A MEMBER
Are you interested in membership at Kirby Woods Baptist Church? Membership is a wonderful next step of accountability in the local body of Christ, as well as knowing that you belong to our family. Every church handles their membership process slightly differently, so here’s what we do:
Visit the church services and interact with other members. Examine the preaching to see if it’s biblical. Talk to the people and see if there’s love among one another. Consider whether this is a church where you can grow in The Lord.
(Optional) Attend a membership interest meeting. We hold these several times a year and they require no commitment, are less than 30 minutes long, and take place immediately following a morning worship service. Pastor Jared and other members of the staff will introduce themselves and answer any questions you have.
Sign and turn in the Membership Pledge document. This is the most important step! The Membership Pledge is our best attempt at due diligence that all members are baptized followers of Christ, and agree with our church doctrine. This agreement is the basis for unity in our church. Read/Review this packet, and see if you are in agreement. If so, check the boxes, add your signature, and drop the form off in the offering boxes. You can also scan and email to Pastor Jared. Packets are available digitally here, or in paper copy at the Resource Wall in the hallway by the Church Library.
Once your packet is received, Pastor Jared will set up a meeting with you to hear about your salvation testimony, church history, and gifts in serving the church. If you have any additional questions, this is a perfect time to ask anything.
Once all this is complete, you will be presented to the church on a Sunday morning during a worship service to celebrate you and pray for you.
